I have been running Eudora as my e-mail client for years, so I have lots of old mail, contacts, etc., that I'd like to preserve. Additionally, Eudora has been operating as a POP client. Now, new laptop with Windows 8. 3d Printer Design Software. 1 and windows Mail. I *think* I'd like to import EVERYTHING from old Eudora (on an old XP machine) to the new machine and windows Mail.
I'd like to import the address book, ALL my old e-mail folders and e-mail content, and all other settings (other than the e-mail server settings which I realize won't work on Mail) I have Windows Mail setup and working on the new machine, but really don't have a clue as to how to export/import the old mail, etc., across from the old machine to the new. I suspect simple copying folders across wouldn't work on Win 8.1 even though it could be made to work on XP. I do remember reading something about setting up Eudora as an IMAP client and then replicating the (local) e-mail folders on the server (and then, I presume, downloading the mails on the new machine), but I don't have a clue as to how to do this (never used IMAP before). Also, I don't think that would migrate my address book/contacts. Martha Since you are familiar with Eudora there is a similar option available in win 8./8.1 called windows live mail. It is an email client like Eudora and has the same sort of POP setup. It has been a decade since I used Eudora but I believe you can export the data from Eudora and if you can windows live mail should be able to import it.
